The Slovenian Quality Assurance for Higher Education (SQAA) will continue to be a member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) for the next five years, which further confirms that the SQAA operates in accordance with European quality assurance standards in higher education.
The decision was adopted by the ENQA Executive Board on 13 December 2018, following the site visit of the Agency carried out by a group of international experts in June 2018. The ENQA group of experts prepared an evaluation report on the basis of the visit and the SQAA’s self-evaluation report. The report is attached to this news item.
Extension of ENQA membership has been one of the most important strategic goals of the SQAA for the period 2017–2020. ENQA membership is essential to SQAA because it enables it to actively participate and monitor innovation and progress in the development of quality assurance systems in the European Higher Education Area, as well as to compare the development of its own system with the system development of other ENQA members. ENQA’s extended membership confirms that the SQAA pursues the same values and quality standards as ENQA and as defined in the ESG standards, while also striving to continuously improve its operations.
The Agency has been a member of ENQA since March 2015 and has been registered in the European Quality Assurance Register in Higher Education (EQAR) since October 2013. The final evaluation report of ENQA is also the basis for EQAR’s decision on further enrolment in the Register.
